Use of "IN"

  1.  In is used before bigger places:
 
  • He lives in India.(country)
  • She lived in Asia.(continent)
  • They lived in Uttar pradesh.(state)
  • You lived in Mumbai.(city)   
      2. In is used to describe These phrases:

  • In the morning.
  • In the afternoon.
  •  In the night.
  • In the evening.
Note: In is used before night only when we describe a particular night otherwise we use only at before night or noon.
 
3.  To describe presence or the state.
 
  • In the world
  • In the sky
  • In the school
  • In a village.
  • In the room.      
4.To describe period of time:
 
  • In Elizabethan age.
  • In Victorian age.
  • In the Eighteenth century.
  • In  the Sixteenth century.
5.Before Months:
  •  In January
  • In April.
  • In May.
He started his project in March.
She told me about his work in December.
 
6.Before Years:
 
  • In 1995
  • In 1985
  • In 1886
Shakespeare was born in 1564.
John Milton was born in 1764.
He joined this job in 1888.

7.Before seasons:

  • In summer.
  • In winter.
  • In autumn.
  • In spring
  • In this season.
He came to me in winter.
She cant live without cooler in summer.
